What is
Sabatier?
A real chemistry reaction, a game about keeping Mars alive — and a coin that exists only after the game has earned it.
01 · The name
The Sabatier reaction
In 1897, French chemist Paul Sabatier described a reaction that turns carbon dioxide and hydrogen into methane and water. Today, the Sabatier reaction runs on the International Space Station: it recovers water from the carbon dioxide astronauts breathe out.
On a real Mars settlement, it is the survival chemistry — the loop that turns waste gas back into oxygen, water and rocket fuel. In Project Sabatier, it is your job: running that loop, robot by robot, until the colony can breathe on its own.
CO₂ + 4 H₂ → CH₄ + 2 H₂O
Waste carbon dioxide goes in. Breathable water, methane fuel and oxygen come out. One closed loop, endlessly repeated — the whole game in a formula.
02 · The game
Project Sabatier in one paragraph
Project Sabatier is a free-to-start mobile strategy game about the race to Mars. You lead a space program: mine Earth, build a crew of collectible robots — Digger, Forge, Scout, Sprout and Hauler — launch missions from Earth to the Moon, survive the long burn, land on Mars and keep your colony alive when the dust storms hit. Every number you see in the app is gameplay, not finance: progress is earned by playing, not purchased.
03 · The coin
$SBTR, explained
$SBTR — the community coin
$SBTR is the planned economy coin of Project Sabatier: a capped supply used for collectible robots, land and the player marketplace. It is not available yet. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell tokens or securities.
Credits — the game currency
Credits are the everyday in-game currency. They stay bound to your account, cannot be traded, and exist so every player can run a full program for free. Credits are gameplay; $SBTR comes later, only if the game earns it.
| Layer | What it is | Tradable? |
|---|---|---|
| Credits | In-game currency for ore, parts and upgrades | No — account-bound |
| Robots & land | Collectible NFTs earned in play or bought on the marketplace | Planned, after launch gates |
| $SBTR | The capped economy coin for the collectible layer | Not yet — no live wallet, mint or sale |
$SBTR is not available yet. The prototype contains no wallet, token or NFT functionality, and no one on this site will ever ask you to buy anything. Nothing here is an offer to sell tokens or securities.
